Premier Bligh addresses the 47th State Conference
Premier Anna Bligh today addressed the 47th State Conference held at the Brisbane Convention Centre. Premier Bligh thanked the party faithful for their work during the recent State Election Campaign "The victory belongs to you, to the campaign workers and managers, to the volunteers, the candidates new and seasoned, the staffers and to the Labor Party". Anna Bligh's New Ministerial Team
Premier Anna Bligh has today finalised her revamped, hand-picked Ministry, assigning portfolio responsibilities for the Cabinet which includes eight new Ministers.

Ms Bligh said the new Cabinet reflected her commitment to renewal across government.

"I pledged to Queensland that there would be significant renewal across the Ministry and today I have delivered that renewal," Ms Bligh said.

100,000 JOBS TO KEEP QUEENSLAND STRONG
Premier Anna Bligh has pledged to create 100,000 new jobs to guide Queensland through the global financial crisis and make our State even stronger than before.

Ms Bligh said she would throw her heart and soul into the plan to support and create jobs across Queensland over the next three years.

“I stake my own future on these 100,000 jobs – I know that Queensland needs jobs not cuts,” she said.  

Jobs and Housing
Work has begun in Queensland on the biggest-ever investment in social housing infrastructure since the Chifley era. This record investment delivers jobs now for Queenslanders in construction and housing for Queensland families.  

Join the Green Army.
Delivering on an election campaign committment the State government is forming a 3000 strong green army. Over the course of the next 3 years the green army will work on green projects of strategic importance whilst also boosting the economy and creating jobs.  
Securing Queensland’s future
This Budget delivers for Queensland in the most challenging economic climate since the Great Depression. Read more
