Registering with a branchBack to top

Once admitted by the Administrative Committee, the State Secretary writes to the new member advising them to apply for full membership rights by registering at a local ALP branch.

You will be provided with a list of branches within your Federal electorate, and the name and contact details of the branch secretary. There are usually several branches within each Federal electorate. New members should choose the branch which suits them best and contact the branch secretary.

It is also possible for a new member to register with a branch prior to having their application considered by the Administrative Committee. Your registration comes into effect once the Administrative Committee admits you as a member.

Once you are registered at branch you are a full member, which entitles you to participate in meetings and vote in ballots.

Once your application for membership has been processed, you will be posted a membership card and information about how to register at a local branch.
